P&S Camera vs SLR Macro

I did this experiment today. Macro shot using Point & Shoot (P&S) camera and SLR camera.

SLR: Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xti, Canon EF-28mm f/1.8 USM, Kenko 12mm Extention Tube.
P&S: Olympus Stylus 850SW
None of them are post processed, but I just resized for upload purpose. (My upload speed is super slow)

This picture was taken with my iPhone.

P&S camera. Cucumber female bud.

P&S camera. Tomato blossom.

P&S shots are little bit too vivid, but they can be fixed using Photoshop or other programs. If you think about the price of the camera ($120), quality of the macro shots are pretty good I think.

So for the price you think the p&s is worth it?

Well, for macro shots, I would say yes for some P&S cameras. But it really depends on what you want from it.
